Ms. Pomeroy will help foster a working relationship with your child’s school to ensure that your child’s needs are being met. No one knows your child better than you. Pomeroy Advocacy can assist with the following services. 

Consultation & Guidance

• Reviewing educational records, IEPs, evaluations, and 504 Plans

• Explaining special education rights, and processes

• Advising families on their child’s educational needs and available services

IEP & 504 Plan Support

• Attending IEP/504 meetings to advocate for appropriate services

• Reviewing IEP's for appropriate goals and objectives.

• Ensuring schools follow requirements and provide necessary supports

Communication with Schools

• Writing formal requests and letters to the district

• Helping families document concerns to school staff

• Assisting families in communicating effectively with school staff

Independent Evaluations & Assessments

• Reviewing evaluations to determine if further testing is needed

• Guiding families through the Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) process

• Connecting families with professionals for private assessments

Dispute Resolution & Due Process Support

• Helping families file complaints (state complaints, OCR complaints, etc.)

• Collaborating with attorneys if legal action is necessary

Training & Workshops

• Educating parents about their rights under IDEA, Section 504, and ADA

• Hosting workshops on advocacy, IEP strategies, and special education processes

• Providing professional development for educators
